Diversified Services Network, Inc. (DSN) is seeking a Software Developer in Peoria, IL

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Software Developer with strong development skills, primarily in Java technologies.
  • Ability to quickly learn and contribute to a complex software platform is essential.
  • Assist with design and development of custom development solution.
  • Key responsibilities include analysis, design, development, implementation, and testing in a high performing, experienced team.

TYPICAL DAY

  • Coding most of the day using agile development.
  • Spending a day planning with the team for the following 3-week schedule, learning about the coding requirements for the upcoming 3 weeks stretch.
  • Code development, a daily half hour standup meeting with the team to discuss any issues or questions.
  • Understand design and propose design changes.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of broad IT experience in JAVA, web and internet technologies.
  • Strong experience with Service Oriented Architecture and object-oriented development.
  • JAVA, JSP, JPA, Spring framework, XML, SQL.
  • API design and development experience including RESTful API.
  • Unit and functional testing experience.
  • Experience with Swagger and OAuth.

Desired Skills

  • Experience with Oracle, SQL DB.
  • Understanding of Eclipse development tool.
  • Prior experience with Agile development (SCRUM).
  • Prior experience with Azure Cloud and VSTS (Azure DevOps).

SOFT SKILLS

  • Able to work both independently and in a teaming environment.
  • Must be very organized and able to learn new technologies through self-learning techniques, and very adaptable to change.
  • Collaboration skills and performance driven attitude.

Strong sense of accountability and drive to get results
